What the High Schools say about OLP
graduates…
Benet Academy

”Our Lady of Peace is traditionally one of our
stronger feeder schools. Mrs. Weisinger is one of
the best Jr. High teachers in America. OLP students
are well prepared in World History and English. We
are very pleased with the students who come from OLP.”
Mr. James Brown, Assistant Principal, Benet Academy
Hinsdale South

”We feel very blessed with the students and families
that enroll from Our Lady of Peace at Hinsdale South High School.
OLP graduates do well academically and engage in many
extracurricular activities. They demonstrate leadership
skills both in and outside of the classroom.
The ’08 ACT score average for a Hinsdale South
student was 22.4, but the average for Hinsdale
South student who was an OLP grad was 25.1.
The majority of OLP grads currently attending
Hinsdale South make the Deans list or honor roll.”
Deborah Kirwan, Director of Guidance
Joliet Catholic

”Over the last several years, families from
Our Lady of Peace have greatly enriched the Joliet
Catholic Academy community! We are grateful for
the intelligent, thoughtful, well-prepared students
that have joined the JCA family from OLP! Their
families have generously served JCA, and they have
brought such unique leadership and character to
our school community.”
Kristin M. Horn, Director of Admissions, Joliet Catholic Academy
Montini Catholic

”I have found the students from OLP to be well rounded.
Several OLP graduates are members of our state ranked math team.
You will also find OLP graduates in National Honor Society,
Math Honor Society, and Language Honor Society.
They are in band and chorus, perform in concerts
as well as in the community.
They are athletes and members of campus ministry.”
Mrs. Maryann O’Neill, Principal, Montini Catholic
What our families say about OLP…
”We are fortunate to have found Our Lady of
Peace when we moved to Downers Grove in 1988.
Our children began attending Our Lady of Peace
school in 1994 and we have two graduates so far –
in 2003 and 2008, and one more to go! The themes
that define our experience at Our Lady of Peace are
faith, family and foundation for the future. We have
seen our faith deepen and grow through praying together
at school masses, experiencing the sacraments,
and sharing good and tough times with OLP priests,
admin and teachers, and the host of volunteer families.
And we have seen our children grow and learn not only
the importance of math and science and English but also
the importance of service and sacrifice and support for
each other that have proved invaluable as they have
moved on to high school and college.”
Cindy and Mike Santay
”Through our grandchildren, we have seen that
Catholic Education is alive and thriving. We have
attended many activities at Our Lady of Peace, and
as retired educators, we know that OLP offers an
excellent education both academically and spiritually.”
Kathy & Fred Schafer Proud OLP Grandparents
”We chose a Catholic education at Our Lady of Peace
for three reasons. We felt the principal, teachers, and
curriculum were the best in the Western Suburbs. We wanted
a faith based education that would emphasize the values we
were teaching our children at home. As teachers ourselves,
we were impressed with the performance of OLP graduates in
high school. Now that our children are in Junior High at
OLP, it is evident that all of those pieces of the puzzle
are there. Our children are excelling academically, spiritually,
socially, and through their extra-curricular activities.
We couldn't be happier to be part of the OLP community.”
