OLP’s Cross Country Team participates in the Suburban Parochial League along with 22 other area schools. Cross Country is open to all boys and girls in 5th through 8th grade and no running experience is necessary. There are five meets in a season and being a “No Cut” sport, every runner who practices will participate in every meet.
Cross Country provides an excellent opportunity for health, physical fitness and conditioning for other sports. An emphasis is placed on proper form and running technique while slowly building up endurance and stamina. Cross Country also develops personal qualities such as self-confidence, sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline and goal setting that compliment what is taught in the classroom.
After school practices and Saturday morning meets allow for other fall sport participation as well as homework and family time.
