ACT – Active Catholic Teens Youth Ministry

Our Lady of Peace ACT (Active Catholic Teens) Youth Ministry is open on a continuous basis to all youth of our Parish from the ages of 6th grade thru Senior Year in High School.

Meeting Dates for Junior High and High School

Once a month we will have a combined meeting of the Junior High and High School students on the first Friday of the month. These meetings will be listed in the bulletin and on this ACT web page. We are trying this new meeting format between now and December of 2010.

Each meeting will include fun activities, time spent with friends and a chance to make new ones, with great things to learn about Christ, practice our faith, food, music, & more!

The mission of this ministry is to unify and empower the youth of our Parish through faith and spiritual growth, fellowship, service, and leadership.

Youth Ministry encompasses eight key components that will guide our efforts in proclaiming the Good News, connecting the Youth with the faith community, and calling our young people to the challenge of discipleship. These eight components are:

  • Advocacy
  • Catechesis
  • Community Life
  • Evangelization
  • Justice & Service
  • Leadership Development
  • Pastoral Care
  • Prayer and Worship

Attention ACT Adult Volunteers:
All adults working in Youth Ministry MUST take part in Protecting God’s Children program. According to Diocesan regulation, all those who act as drivers for YM events must be 25 years old & complete a Release Form. See Colleen Corey for the form.
